Serving families where they live

Regular participation in high-quality after school programs
is linked to:
- Significant gains in standarized test scores
- Improved classroom work habits
- Reductions in behavior problems
- Increased likelihood of high school graduation
After school participation has been shown to reduce:
- Violence and juvenile crime
- Drug use and addiction
- Other high-risk behaviors
For each high-risk youth prevented from adopting a life of crime, experts estimate the country saves between $1.7 and $2.3 million.
